After my management class, I became interested in how health equity plays a role in emergency management and preparedness. Becoming involved in the Medical Reserve Corp provides me a way to see the application of emergency management in real world scenarios instead of solely in academia. The Medical Reserve Corp also provides me with an opportunity to foster collaboration through interdisciplinary work with other members of the Academic Health Center.
After my first year as a member of the Medical Reserve Corp, I became involved with the Student Advisory Group. It is a great way to work with and hear the perspectives of the MRC Coordinator and other students from other areas of study.
